Vincent is known as "Tall Vinny" by some or "Skinny Vinny "by some others at the IAC. He is a native New Yorker, and his home town was Port Jefferson on Long Island. After his wife, Sonia,  passed away in 2015 he moved to St.Johns to live near his son Robert, daughter-in-law and his 2 grandsons. His oldest grandson, Thomas, is now in the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Another son John lives on his 100 acre farm in up state NY. Vinny retired from Grumman Aircraft as design engineer in the flight department. His hobby is fishing and also skied for 50 years. He has been a member of the IAC since March of 2016. He was Board Chairman in 2017 and now is the IAC  President. Vinny‚Äôs favorite thing about the IAC is the people. Vinny says, "Being a little shy, they made me feel welcomed and I also feel like they are family to me and I now have some very close friends here."



With two stints as president of IAC, Mario answered the call to return to a leadership role . A father of two and grandfather of four, he has called Jacksonville home for thirty-five years. Mario retired from the federal government with twenty-nine years of civil service and is a US Air Force veteran of Viet Nam.  Born in Biscelie, Italy and a naturalized citizen, he is proud to be an Italian-American. A people person, the only thing Mario enjoys more than fishing and bowling is "spending time with my paisanos."


Vinny came to the Jacksonville area in 1999 from New Jersey with his wife, Pat and two children, Vince and Lance.  He retired from the railroad with nearly 40 years of service and now spends his time with us at the club. He enjoys reading, numismatics and projects around the house. His uncle, Joe Sanfilippo, was one of the founders of the Italian American Club of Palm Coast. Vinny and Pat first came to our club during a Festa years ago with their, then, young children and were drawn back to become members in 2016. His favorite things about the club are the many events that are ongoing throughout the year and the variety of things to do.  Volunteering to help the charities we partner with also provide a feeling of purpose, particularly, the events supporting children with challenges.  He encourages you to get on board the IAC train!


Marilena Blajian


Marilena lived in Romania and France until coming to USA. Our world traveler is fluent in three languages,  currently studying Spanish and Italian. She has been tutoring English for twelve years. Lena is married to Greg and they reside in Fruit Cove. Her hobbies include traveling, cooking and of course, foreign languages. Her love of dancing is demonstrated at IAC events where she enjoys "tripping the light fantastic" A club member since 2013, she is excited to be a newly elected board officer. Lena's favorite things about IAC are "making friends, getting together and having a good time."



Lucy is a freelance writer and owner of Lucy's Lines 'N Lyrics. A graduate of UF, Lucy received her Masters Degree at UNF. She has been a teacher, district administrator, school principal and executive director in a career spanning four decades. Lucy is the proud mother of two, has three grandkids and is Mario's "better half." A lifetime member of IAC, Lucy is honored to be "recycled" on the BOD for the fifth time.




Ann J. (DeMichael) Clemente was born in NJ.  Went to Belleville High School where she was a twirler at the football games, belonged to the Tri-Dels Girls Club, was representative for American Red Cross and attended dances at Catholic Youth Organization.  Upon graduation from Belleville High School chose from a few job offers and chose Prudential Insurance Company's home office in Newark, NJ.    Ann Married Carlo G. Clemente after he honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.  They had two boys, Jeffrey Carl and Christopher John.  They visited Jacksonville and decided to relocate there and two years later Ann's parents, Anthony and Dorothy, moved two houses down and enjoyed their retirement.  She has two grandsons, Carlo and Gianni


Ann attended Florida Community College while raising the boys, working at Crowley Maritime, then moving on to CSX Transportation.  She was active in Women in Transportation Services, serving as VP, Secretary, Chaplain and volunteering on various committees; one was to host Eastern States WITS convention  She was active in St. Patrick's CCW, heading up fund-raisers especially coordinating dances through Carl's rock band, The Sevilles.  Later she owned ACExecutive Secretarial Services, an at-home business.  Eventually, they moved to Mandarin where she was a free-lance administrative assistant.  She became active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in CCW, CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish) St. Elizabeth's Cooking Circle and Ladies Wednesday Morning Bible study.  Ann was avid member of the YMCA.


Ann joined the Italian American Club August 2005 and has been an active member.  Over the years has served on the Board as Recording Secretary, Sickness & Distress Chairperson and assisting Carlo when he was president.



Carlo is a Jersey boy, born in Newark on November 21, 1940. He served in the US Navy from 1958-1961 and moved to Jacksonville in 1973. Carlo worked for Anheuser Busch as a Quality Control Lab Technician and Emergency Medical Tech. He retired in 1999 following 20 years of service. Married to wife Ann for 56 years, they have two sons, Jeffrey (deceased) and Christopher, two grandsons Gianni and Carlo III. Carlo is a 3rd generation musician, playing instruments from a young age of 10. He brings his musical talents to IAC and performed for many events during his 14 year membership. Serving our club in a variety of leadership positions, he has been President (2 years), Board Member (5 years) and Board Chairman (5 years). Carlo's culinary expertise is demonstrated in the IAC kitchen where he creates authentic Italiano cuisine to the delight of our members.



Lucy and her (late) husband George moved to Florida from Brooklyn, NY with the company she worked with for 24 years. As a former member of the Italian American Club (rejoining in 2016) she is very happy to be catching up with old friends and making new ones. Serving on the Board and helping make improvements will be a goal she is looking forward to.



Linda has been a member of the IAC for a number of years now. A natural volunteer, she loves heading up the Pot of Gold fundraiser and being the Bakery Chairperson at our annual Festa Italiana. She returned to the Board of Directors in 2018 and was nominated to Chairman of the Board.  Linda is a wonderful asset to both the Board and the Club.


Anne is a transplant from far-away Aschoffenburg, Germany. She has lived in Jacksonville with her two lovely daughters for 25 years and enjoys being a stay-at- home mom. Anne is retired from jobs in retail management and personnel manager for an engineering company. Our Fraulein loves visits with family in her homeland. She admits to being a sci-fi novel junkie, especially works of Dean Koontz. You can find her at the club most days arranging rentals, decorating for events, and making sure things run smoothly. Her favorite thing about the IAC..."The people."
